A Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) is the result of a community-based planning process designed to guide the economic growth of an area. It helps to coordinate the efforts of individuals, organizations and private industry concerned with economic and community development. It is a continuing process with diverse community participation designed to promote sustainable economic development and job opportunities, foster effective transportation systems, enhance and protect the environment and balance resource use through sound management of development.
A finalized CEDS document will be readily accessible to the economic development stakeholders in the community and should be useful as a tool for local decision making.
The Copper Valley Development Association (CVDA) as the designated Alaska Regional Development Organization (ARDOR) has undertaken the revision of this document. The CEDS then becomes the ARDOR Regional Development Strategy which will in turn guide future annual work plans of CVDA and its staff.
